Author of "Xmas Carol" trashes religion and chronicles the American decline. Plus gay stuff, science, writing, atheism, and baseball.
I loved that story, I guess because I can really relate to it. Growing up with baseball as I did, we grew very fond of teams, ie a group of players that worked together and in those good old days stayed together. I like that.Today the way they move bodies about from team to teams you would think the Mafia was in charge of player development.Sigh.........
I really liked the story too. I loved when the kid said, "But Frankie's not on the team anymore!" That's the real story, and sometimes it hurts. (Not in Frankie's case, mind you; I'm glad to see him go.)
