Life on the tundra: bone-chilling

Brrrrrrr. It's 2 degrees in NY this morning, with 20 mph winds. That's cold. Happy Polar Vortex, everyone. May your wind be chill.

So, how are you handling it? I hope you have the kind of job where you just sit in front of a fire all day, eating Bon Bons. If not, good luck to you.

Seriously, I want a report: how are you faring this morning? Click that comment button and sound off.

PS: Feed the wild animals in your area today! They need fuel to fight off the cold. I've already put food out twice today. They're hungry out there. And no wonder.

Oops. I meant to post yesterday but got distracted. As you know, I work outside and my brain froze and didn't thaw until now. Anyway, I hope to be pardoned by posting now. You see, I was waiting til now so I could include how I dealt with yesterday and today. Wink, wink.
Yesterday I got to work and parked my car in the lot and walked the block to the warehouse and I was so cold I literally forgot my three digit punch in code. It was bad. You need to be careful when you work outside. I had to always be planning how I could get to a warm place fast. Even machines don't want to work outside in this weather. My tractor battery needed to be charged for about 20 minutes before it would start. Big straddle carriers at the piers wouldn't work because of the cold. It's been crazy out there. I'm taking off tomorrow to try to recover.

Hmph. Throw a party and the people come the next day. Or the one after that. (Shakes head, shuffles offscreen.)
