This is apparently the Milky Way arch. I confess I've never heard of it before. And I totally don't get how we can see such a thing from Earth. It's like it was taken from outside the galaxy. (There are huge holes in my own astronomical information. One day I'll meet an astronomer, capture him and bring him to my house. Then I'll ply him with espresso and get the answers to all my astronomy questions.)
