So that's it!

There's an article on physorg that explains why we get up from our chairs to do something, and then forget what it was. Turns out, the problem is walking through doorways. It's a fun explanation.

Interesting article Keith. I was surprised to learn at the end of the article that returning to the original room doesn't jarr the memory. I sometimes backtrack through rooms to remember what it was that I forgot. Now I know why it hardly ever works. If I had known this sooner I would have bought a loft.

It does seem odd that you can't just backtrack and bump into the memory. You'd think that would work. Still, it's good to know.
