|Mayor Rocky Anderson|
Tonight he had Rocky Anderson on. He was the mayor of Salt Lake City and is an amazing guy. He's also running for president in 2012 as a 3rd party candidate on the Justice Party ticket. This guy is the most progressive candidate I've ever heard. If we were to elect him, we might be able to turn this country around and point it in a healthy direction. No, really.
It's a longshot, for sure. But a social media-driven push could actually accomplish this miracle. As Rocky said on the show tonight, they did it in Egypt so why not here? He's right! I haven't felt hopeful about anything political in a very long time. Go, Rocky!
Cenk raised the obvious question: won't this split support for Obama and thereby guarantee the election of a Republican president? Rocky responded that if either Obama or a Republican is elected, nothing in our corporate-owned political system will change -- and that's not acceptable. So why not aim for real, positive change? He was so well-spoken and so on-point that he won me over.
What do you think?
