A Sunday music find

I just ran across this gorgeous video of Sungha Yung. This is a song called "Missing You" that he wrote when he was 11. It was his first composition. Apparently he wrote the song for a guitarist friend.

It's incredible.

I can't get off my Sungha Jung kick, especially since I just found an old video of him playing Canon in D. He's much younger here, perhaps 9 or 10, yet he's able to play this wildly complicated song. Amazing.

I love this kid

Time to bring back Sungha Jung, the amazing young guitar player. I was actually looking for anyone who could play the song "Anji" well, when I stumbled upon this video. The song was written by Davey Graham when he was 19 years old and it has haunted many a musician, including Paul Simon, who also recorded it.

I like Sungha Jung's version. Here he is.

Sunday Music 2

I may be the only person who doesn't know about this kid. Could be. His name is Sungha Jung and he plays complicated rock guitar songs beautifully. I think that's his schtick: to play the hard ones. Amazing kid. He's 13 or 14 now though he seems younger in this video. Here he is playing Tears in Heaven. The kid's a master.
